Citrus Cleanse

Makes 1 serving
by Richard Boettner, Herbalist

2 oranges, fresh squeezed
1 lemon, fresh squeezed
1 lime, fresh squeezed
2 Tbs water (more if there is not enough juice or make more juice)
2 Tbs Virgin Olive oil
1 tsp green powder (one or more of the following: spirulina, alfalfa, chlorella, barley grass, wheat grass, kamut)
1 tsp stevia or fructose (to just sweeten but not to make it sweet, use as little as possible or none)
pinch kelp powder
pinch garlic powder
pinch ginger powder
pinch cayenne pepper powder

Blend all ingredients in a blender briefly, until combined, about 20 - 30 seconds. Drink immediately. You may swish your mouth out with water, and swallow, do not spit it out. After about 20 minutes, drink a full glass of water, no need to chug it. If you still feel thirsty, have another in a few minutes. Have no solid food for at least an hour after having this Citrus Cleanse, to give it time to act.

A number of people feel no hunger until lunch. If you are not one of them, try to put off eating any solid foods as long as possible, to help the Citrus Cleanse to do its job. Try drinking extra filtered water, which will give you the full feeling, even temporarily, and move toxins out of the body. If you feel you need solid food, try eating fresh fruit, have a non-dairy smoothie or have some miso soup with vegetables and tofu cubes. Think light and minimal food rather than bacon and eggs or anything heavy.

This will jump start your morning by stimulating the liver, cleansing the blood and loosen mucus. A great way to start any day. The water acts as the carrier for the waste, mucus and toxins, helping to stimulate an internal cleansing, a very mild cleansing. This is a cleanse you could do the entire summer to feel lighter and better.
