Date Nut Bread

Yield: 1 Loaf
Ingredients:

1 cups Chopped dates
1 cup Sugar
2 tbs Butter
1 cup Boiling water
2 1/4 cups whole wheat Flour
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Baking powder, non-aluminum
1 cup Chopped nuts, variety
1 large Egg

Pour boiling water over dates, sugar and shortening; let cool. Mix flour, soda, salt and baking powder. Stir into dates; add nuts, mixing well. Stir in eggs last, blend in thoroughly, pour into greased loaf pan and bake for an hour at 350 dregrees F.
