Overnight Raw Cereal
Put everything into a bowl, and cover them with filtered water. Loosely cover the bowl, and let it sit on your counter until you get up in the morning. In the morning, drain off all the water, dump the bowl into your food processor. At this point I like to add a chopped up apple. Pulse in the food processor until coarsely chopped, about the consistency of granola or oatmeal. I sometimes add a little cinnamon too. Enjoy this with a little honey stirred in, with nut milk, or with homemade yoghurt stirred in. This is such a healthful cereal, and so yummy! And, so darned easy! Alternatives: briefly soak some oats to soften them before adding them, use blueberries, raspberries, peaches, tangerines (not pulsed, added to the bowl before serving), currents that had been soaked, ground flax seeds, or other nuts or seeds of choice. Try some soaked (overnight) barley for a nuttier flavor or teff. Experimentation could lead to some adventurous results. Email us your recipe.
