Black Cohosh

Native Americans used this herb to reduce the pain and inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis. It has also been recognized throughout history for treating menopausal symptoms. Black Cohosh inhibits the secretion of 'luteinizing hormone', a hormone which causes many of the unpleasant side effect during menopause. It is therefore used in alternative medicine in the place of allopathic estrogen-replacement therapy.
