Aloe

Aloe is best known for its amazing skin healing properties, especially from a sun burn. It has been known to heal everything from burns to cuts, poison ivy to alleviating the soreness of dentures. Aloe cools the itching sensations some people feel. The most potent use of aloe is directly from the plant. Aloe leaves contain a great quantity of jelly which can be applied directly to the suffering area. In many creams or lotions it may be diluted and Aloe's effects reduced. Recently, a compound which exists in aloe called 'acemannan', has been studied showing it to be an immune booster, capable of blocking the spread of the AIDS virus.
