Botanical Name: Vetiveria zizanoides
Family: Poaceae (Gramineae)

Perfumery Note: Base
Strength of Initial Aroma: Strong
Constituents: Benzoic acid, vetiverol, furfurol, a-vetivone, B-vetivone, vetivene, vetivenyl vetivenate.
Aromatic Description: Woody, earthy, herbaceous, spicy almost smoky.
Blends well with Lavender, Sandalwood and Jasmine.
Aromatic Properties: aggression, anchoring, balancing, exhaustion, grounding, relaxing, soothing, stress Usage: bath; massage; vaporisation; and perfume.

Possible Uses: Acne, arthritis, cuts, depression, exhaustion, insomnia, muscular aches, oily skin, rheumatism, sores, stress, antiseptic, emollient, fixative, immune stimulant, male infertility, muscular relaxant, neuralgia, nervous tension, sedative.

A deeply relaxing, calming oil. Earthy, smokey aroma, best used in blends. This essential oil is extracted from the rootlets by steam distillation. It relaxes and soothes mind and body. Earthy, smokey aroma. Sensual properties.

Safety Information: No special precautions when using this oil. This oil is nontoxic and will not irritate or sensitize the skin. Vetiver Oil should NEVER be put directly on the skin. It should always be mixed with another oil. Serious burning can occur from direct concentrated contact.
