Benzoin resin is a mixture of 50% crude balsamic resin and 50% benzyl alcohol
(Benzoin resin is not an essential oil because it is not made by steam distillation or expression, but it is usually classed as one. The benzyl alcohol is necessary to thin the benzoin sufficiently so it can be poured)
