Vegetarian:

[veh-juh-TEHR-ee-uhn] Very simply, a vegetarian is one who eschews the consumption of meat or other animal foods. However, vegetarianism, which has been practiced since ancient times, is certainly not one-faceted.

Vegetarianism is a dietary practice characterized by the consumption of only vegetables, fruit, nuts, grains and pulses, and excluding the consumption of all body parts of any animal and products derived from animal carcasses (such as lard, tallow, gelatin, cochineal), from one's diet. The most common definition of vegetarianism however accepts the inclusion of animal-based products such as honey, milk and other dairy products as well as eggs.
