Vegan:

Pronounced vee-gun.

A strict vegetarian, who eats only foods of plant origin.

The vegan or total vegetarian diet includes only foods from plants: fruits, vegetables, legumes (dried beans and peas), grains, seeds, and nuts. A strict vegetarian: using no animal products, dairy or eggs; animal derived products (leather, silk, etc.) not used.

Foods with this label contain no animal products of any kind.

A diet that excludes all meat, fish and dairy products as well as any food derived from a living animal such as eggs. Their diet relies on beans, lentils, nuts, seeds and soya products for protein, grains and starchy vegetables for carbohydrate and nuts and seeds and oils for fat.
