Herb(s):

An herb (pronounced "urb" in American English and "hurb" in British English) is a plant grown for culinary or medicinal value-seeds, stems, roots, leaves, fungus, and berries, which have been dried, can be whole, ground or powdered. The green, leafy part of the plant is typically used. Usage differs between culinary herbs and medicinal herbs but the same plant is often used in both systems. A medicinal herb may be a shrub or other woody plant, whereas a culinary herb is a non-woody plant used for their aromatic properties, flavor and texture. By contrast, spices are the seeds, berries, bark, root, or other parts of the plant, even leaves in some cases. Plants containing many nutrients and phytochemicals, providing an array of health benefits. Herbs have been known for centuries, but are now becoming the basics of many modern medicines. A very large number of plants used as remedial agents in medicine are the natural remedies in treating disease. Herbs have been the source of many of mankind's most basic medicinal therapies, and form the foundation of the modern pharmaceutical industry.
