Essential Oils:

Essential oils have a long tradition of providing a variety of therapeutic benefits. Many of these traditionally known benefits, have been confirmed through modern scientific research. The use of essential oils in a cosmetic will have an antiseptic and antimicrobial action, as well as a healing and soothing effect on the skin. Essential oils help the skin and hair detoxify, drain, heal and regenerate. Aromatic volatile oils extracted from the leaves, stems, flowers, and other parts of plants. Therapeutic use generally includes dilution of the highly concentrated oil.

They are potent, highly aromatic oils, and in aromatherapy, appropriate oils are selected to treat each patient's unique personality and needs, their different therapeutic effects (for example, calming, energizing, cleansing) working by skin absorption or smell. Oils are either extracted by pressing or steam distillation, and only in cases where that is not possible, through the use of a solvent. They are natural mixtures of various chemical substances. Unlike fatty oils, they evaporate without leaving any residue and not a true oil as the carrier oils used to dilute them.
